On account of Gandhi Jayanthi and Swachhata Hi Seva, the IIBS NSS Unit has organized a day program by conducting a Rally on the importance of cleanliness on 28th September 2023 and Shramadhan for Swathatha (Cleaning drive) on 1st August 2023.
On 28th September the NSS Program Officer of IIBS College informed NSS volunteers about the rally and its importance. As per the instructions, all the NSS volunteers have prepared placards and written messages on them. Along with faculties, in association with Doddajala Gram Panchayath went to rally in Muthugadahalli village streets with placards, and banners.
Doddajala Panchayath officials and workers along with our students started their rally from the IIBS College entrance with slogans like ‘Clean India Green India’, ‘Cleanliness is next to godliness’, and so on…. Village people and the public were gathered when we went through village streets and roads and heard the slogans. After reading messages in the placards, they came to know the importance of cleanliness and some villages have told that the college is doing a great job by doing rally bring awareness to the public. Through this rally IIBS NSS unit had done community service.
On 1st October, 2023 IIBS College has decided to do Shamadhan by cleaning the college premises and Muthugadahalli road. The NSS volunteers along with NSS Program officer, Principal and faculties went to Muthugadahalli and the road side cleaning drive (Swachhata Campaign) was done on account of Swachhata Hi Seva campaing as per the instructions of Government of India and Government of Karnataka. Students have removed plastic wastes and unwanted plants on either side of the Muthugadahalli road and broomed the college campus as well.
There were lots of plastic wastes on the either side of the road and even unwanted plants have covered the road, they were an obstacle to the riders and drivers and causing accidents. Considering this, college management also informed the NSS Program officer to clean the college premise and instructed us to clean the road side with removing plastic wastes, grass and unwanted plants.
The importance of campaign and rally was to bring awareness to the people and keep their premises and village neat and clean and to make people aware of the motto of Swachh Bharath Abhiyan.
