For many years students across the nation have in jeopardy to crack most of the competitive management exam like MAT. And honestly, there is no right or exact answer to it. While some consider studying from the start and well ahead of time can help you score well in your Management Aptitude test (MAT) and for others staying focus when the MAT is around the corner can help you score well. Here are some useful tips to ensure your smooth quick prep for MAT 2017!
Read, understand and apply:
The first and the most important step of your MAT preparations are to read a concept carefully. Understand the logic inside out of the topic and then apply it in real time situations. Time management is the key focus element here. Remember, knowing a concept is easy but having the right knowledge to apply it can increase your intelligent quotient in general, thus saving time during MAT exam.
Notes:
Many students find making notes a time consuming activity, but, what they are not aware is, the notes that you make randomly while you study for your MAT can do wonders for you at the very last moment. Keeping a journal of topics with heading and sub headings can remind you of the concepts you studied. These notes can be your last minute revision.
Practice:
As the saying goes “Practice makes a man perfect”, the same rule is applied for your MAT preparations this year. Out of the 5 sections of your exam, MAT covers 4 topics where rigorous practice to save time is required. Sections like Data Analysis, Sufficiency and Intelligence, Critical Reasoning, it is important to develop a rhythm of answering these questions accurately. Not only this will help you finish your paper early, but you can focus on other sections too.
Solve Sample Papers:
Search for sources that offer MAT sample papers or look for previous year’s paper for you to get an overview of how the paper might look like. Take you time to solve the questions and it is okay not to have time bound for the first few papers.
Crash courses:
These courses can be expensive but they are best exam stimulators. They help you answer the questions and strengthen your weaker sections by providing you similar MAT environment. By attending crash courses, you will understand where you stand amongst others.
Stay focused:
MAT is all about staying focus and randomly start going through reference books that you haven’t read before you start to panic. Stay focused, make notes, practice questions from Mathematical Skills and be aware of your surroundings. A focused mind is at peace and ideal before entering the examination hall.
Time Management:
It takes minimum 5 minutes to go through the MAT paper properly and get an idea how to attempt it. Develop a structured approach by solving easy questions first and then moving on to the difficult ones and giving more time to it. Also mentally calculate the amount of time left, number of questions that be attempted and divide you time equally.
