On August 26, 2022, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru, students from the 2022 batch were taken to Agri-Tech for an industrial visit. Dr. Nagaraj, Prof. Archana, and Prof. Mangala v Reddy, Faculties at IIBS, were in charge of organizing it. Agri-Tech (Connecting Agriculture to Agri-Business) is India's Largest Exhibition on Modern Farming, Agricultural Equipment, Farm Machinery, Agro Start-ups, & Agri Processing Technologies. The exhibition featured a number of stalls focused on agriculture and related industries. Students were amazed to see the different segments in the Agri sector which also benefits non-agriculture students. They had first-hand experience with tissue culture plants, sprinkler and drip irrigation, floriculture, food industry, dairy tech, and the poultry & livestock sector. The eyes were treated with new varieties of flowers at the Floriculture division where the students saw
Mr. Makhana, they have the Phool makhana which was roasted in olive oil and tasted so different from those that we get from the local markets. There were many stalls that provided samples for tasting as their product was new to the market. Mr. Lemon was a brand-new product on the market; it was distinct from the typical Indian acid lime and contained products and by-products from Persian Seedless Lemons.
Save Grain Bags: This company stood out with its product because it aids both the farmer and the consumer in preventing pest-related loss of produce or product. The produce from Jackfruit Arasan was exceptional; they offered a variety of jackfruit products and by-products, including tender jackfruit that is ready to eat as well as seeds, floors, powder, and sweet chips.
Overall, students had a very positive learning experience and were able to comprehend how technology has benefited agriculture and related industries, how start-ups are booming in the sector, drone technology, as well as how by-products are used efficiently.
