On August 7th, 2023, an enthusiastic group of students from the MBA 2022-24 batch at the International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS) embarked on an enlightening educational excursion. Their destination was the Indus Vegpro Industry located in Chikkabalapura. The primary goal of this visit was to provide these students with invaluable exposure to the intricate operations involved in agricultural product processing within a real-world industrial context.

Highlights of the Visit:

As the clock struck at 10:45 AM, the students arrived at the Indus Vegpro Industry and were greeted warmly by the representatives of the establishment. These industry experts displayed a genuine eagerness to share their insights and knowledge. To ensure a comprehensive and immersive learning experience, the students were divided into two distinct groups, each with a unique focus on specific aspects of the industry's operations.

Batch 1: Witnessing Gerchinks and Vegetable Processing

The first group was privileged to observe the meticulous process of gerchinks and vegetable processing. Under the guidance of seasoned industry professionals, the students were taken through each pivotal stage of production. From the initial washing to machine grading, barrel filling, stabilization, and the intriguing fermentation process, the students gained firsthand exposure to the intricacies that uphold product quality and hygiene standards. A remarkable highlight of this experience was tasting the processed gerchinks and other items, offering a sensory understanding of the final product's characteristics.

Batch 2: Exploring Raw Material Extraction and Supply Chain Dynamics

In parallel, the second group of students delved into the realm of raw material extraction and the intricacies of supply chain management. Industry experts elaborated on the collaborative efforts with farmers, providing insights into the techniques to source raw materials directly from the origins.
