On 26th November’2017 MBA Students of IIBS Bangalore Campus visited Trade Fair. Trade Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) had launched the 37th event, Indian International Trade Fair (IITF) With the theme "Start-up Standup". The Fair was held during November 14th-27th, 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Around 22 countries and 3,000 domestic and foreign companies participated in the Trade Fair.
The event was inaugurated by the President of India Hon’ble Ram Nath Kovind. The partner country for the fair was Vietnam, and the focus country was Kyrgyzstan.
IITF is a major tourist attraction and lakhs of people visit the fair every year. This annual event provides a common platform for manufacturers, traders, exporters, and importers. The fair displays comprise a wide range of products and services including automobiles, coir products, jute, textiles, garments, household appliances, kitchen appliances, processed food, beverages, confectionery, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics, body care & healthcare products, telecommunication, power sector, electronic sector, furniture, home furnishings, sporting goods, toys, and engineering goods. Some suggested that GST might have played a part. Parveen Pant said, "I used to sell this cloth for Rs 500, but after GST am selling it for Rs 600."
The visitor profile covers leaders of trade and industry, foreign dignitaries, decision-makers, policy makers, and opinion makers.
Students Learning:
Students got a chance to witness the Exhibitors across the world showcased products covering an entire range of product spectrum at IITF.
They observed an overview of the Market, Industry, and the latest trends and innovations. They also witnessed the diverse culture of different states in India and also of the other represented countries present there. Altogether it was a very enriching experience for all the students.
