The guest lecture was organized on the topic “Emerging trends and job opportunities in operations and supply chain management” for students of MBA program on 11th May, 2018. Mr. Paniraj Murthy was the resource person for the day; he is CEO and director of Next step logistics Management Pvt. Ltd. Supply chain and logistics operations are the fulcra of a business as they are the platform through which manufactured goods are delivered to the customer in time.

SCM operations form a vital part of business as they not only influence the efficiency of a business but also can be a cost-cutting center if mobilized effectively in an organization set up. Intense competition in the job market, industry volatility which behest the companies to look for a talent who can multitask and who possess certification, credentials with exposure to industry practices has made the students think out of a box when it comes to specialization, career option, exploring un catered industry etc.

Guest lecture by Mr. Paniraj on operation and SCM mainly focused and attempted to answer these questions. Speaker gave a gist of supply chain industry, job opportunities in future and key skills to be possessed to get an employment opportunity in the sector.
