The caste system in the history of Indian civilization is an informal practice of elite community to reserve and promote prosperity to a limited circle of privileged society it has been a curse to the fundamental knowledge of Vedic practices where knowledge wasn’t limited to any particular community.

Dating back to earlier days of the Vedic Gurukul education system where the internship is all about surviving in the wild mountainous regions of the Himalayas by begging for one year in order to trim down the false attitude and ego of an  Individual. These practices were not just a curriculum for common students but many Princes of many notable princely states also adhered to these practices. It in return developed them as a man of character and the knowledge to better administer a territory with low resource management keeping respect and humility towards all sections of society. MBA in Business Analytics Bangalore

In India, reservation is provided in various accounts as per the Indian  Constitutional practices.

  • Government Educational Institutions (like IITs, IIMs, etc) – as per Article 15 – (4), (5), and (6)
  • Government Jobs (like IAS, IPS, etc) – as per Article 16 – (4) and (6) ? Legislatures (Parliament, and State Legislature) – as per Article 334

Before 2019, the reservation was provided mainly on the basis of social and educational backwardness (caste). However, after the 103rd constitutional amendment in 2019, economic backwardness is also considered.

As seen from the above table, about 60% of seats are reserved in India – for various sections like ST, SC, OBC, and EWS – with respect to Government jobs and  Higher Education Institutions. 3% of seats are also reserved for differently-abled persons across all categories.

This also means that only 40% of seats are available under merit. In the merit seats, not only the general category candidates but all other categories like SC, ST,  OBC, and EWS can also compete.

When the word knowledge is concerned it is absolutely primordial and particular to one understanding of his relationship with the universe or in the other words his sublime state of understanding of the Creation and the Creator and the purpose behind this tangible and intangible extension of the elusiveness of time.

Considering the Supreme text of the world's oldest civilization the Bhagwad Geetha which was a continuous culmination of 700 shlokas in the form of a motivational song which was addressed to arrest the illusion of a Pandava Prince Arjun who was in deepest grief by anticipating the war circumstances, by the sovereign Creator Shri Krishna himself. Good MBA colleges in Bangalore

Bhagwad Geetha Chapter 4 Verse 13

The Vedas classify people into four categories of occupations, not according to their birth, but according to their natures. Such varieties of occupations exist in every society. Even in communist nations where equality is the overriding principle, the diversity in human beings cannot be smothered. There are the philosophers who are the communist party think-tanks, there are the military men who protect the country, there are the farmers who engage in agriculture,  and there are the factory workers.

The Vedic philosophy explains this variety in a more scientific manner. It states that the material energy is constituted of three gu?as (modes): sattva gu?a (mode of goodness), rajo gu?a (mode of passion), and tamo gu?a (mode of ignorance).  The Brahmins are those who have a preponderance of the mode of goodness.

They are predisposed toward teaching and worship. The Kshatriyas are those who have a preponderance of the mode of passion mixed with a smaller amount of the mode of goodness. They are inclined toward administration and management.  The Vaishya are those who possess the mode of passion mixed with some mode of ignorance. Accordingly, they form the business and agricultural classes. Then there are the Shudras, who are predominated by the mode of ignorance. They form the working class. This classification was neither meant to be according to birth nor was it unchangeable. Shree Krishna explains in this verse that the classification of the Var???hram system was according to people’s qualities and activities.

Bhagwad Geetha Chapter 14 Verse 5

O mighty-armed Arjun, the material energy consists of three gu?as (modes)— sattva (goodness), rajas (passion), and tamas (ignorance). These modes bind the eternal soul to the perishable body.

The material energy possesses three gu?as—goodness, passion, and ignorance.  Hence the body, mind, and intellect that are made from prak?iti also possess these three modes.

Consider the example of three-color printing. If any one of the colors is released in excess by the machine on the paper, then the picture acquires a hue of that color. Similarly, prak?iti has ink of three colors. Based upon one’s internal thoughts, external circumstances, past sansk?rs, and other factors,  one or the other of these modes becomes dominant for that person. And the mode that predominates creates its corresponding shade upon that person’s personality. Hence, the soul is swayed by the influence of these dominating modes. Shree Krishna now describes the impact of these modes upon the living being.

Bhagwad Geetha Chapter 18 Verse 66

Abandon all varieties of dharmas and simply surrender unto Me alone. I shall liberate you from all sinful reactions; do not fear. Best MBA colleges in Bangalore

To comprehend this instruction of Shree Krishna, we need to understand the term dharma. It comes from the root word dh?i, which means dh?ra? karane  yogya, or “responsibilities, duties, thoughts, and actions that are appropriate for  us.” There are actually two kinds of dharmas—material dharma and spiritual dharma. These two kinds of dharma are based upon two different  understandings of the “self.” When we identify ourselves as the body, then our dharma is determined in accordance with our bodily designations, obligations,  duties, and norms. Hence, serving the bodily parents, fulfilling the responsibilities to society, nation, etc. are all bodily dharma. This is also called para dharma or material dharma. This includes the dharma as a Brahmin, Kshatriya, etc. However,  when we identify ourselves as the soul, we have no material designations of var?a (social class) and ??hram (status in life). The soul’s Father, Mother,  Friend, Beloved, and resting place are all God. Hence our one and only dharma becomes a loving devotional service to God. This is also called para dharma or spiritual dharma.

So as the perception of the individual the knowledge is perceived. From the given facts and shlokas from Bhagwad Geetha, it is naturally evident that the scripts and texts of this civilization are been published and presented as per the nature of  Individual perception and with the due course of time it had been misunderstood and promoted wrong practices it was been used to shadow the dominant doings as like ragging practices in institutions, the seniors rag the juniors similarly the economically privileged community had a good dominance and call on the societal practices in the history of Indian social culture.

Some historians and experts of religion have argued that the description of the caste system in ancient epics was different from the system that is being practiced today. According to Patrick Olivelle, a professor of Sanskrit and Indian  Religions at the University of Texas in Austin, the ideology of purity and impurity  that emerges from the literature is concerned with the individual and not with groups. As per his reading of the texts, all four varnas could attain purity or impurity by the content of their character, ethical intent, actions, innocence or ignorance, stipulations, and ritualistic behaviors. He also questions the medieval practice of allowing only the members of the first three varnas to study Vedas,  claiming that such a restriction of who can study Vedas is not found in the Vedic era literature.
